Shot on 16 mm film, The Fourth Trimester is based on the Student Emmy® award-winning short film of the same title by Michael R.R. McLaughlin, set in a world in which the right to life has been Constitutionally redefined as beginning 21 years after "conception;" at that time, the "conceptus" is judged and a decision is made between being born and being aborted.
